The Great American Consumer // Daytime Closing Reception

Join us on Saturday, April 20th for a closing reception for the exhibition “The Great American Consumer" by Tom Day.Join us on Saturday, April 20th, 12-3pm inside The Gallery at Studeō PAR- for the closing reception for "The Great American Consumer" by Tom Day. The exhibition runs from March 8th - April 27th at The Gallery at Studeō PAR, but we wanted to do something special to celebrate such impressive work. In short more of the worlld needs to see this exhition to better appreciate that world around them! - - - Contemporary painter, Tom Day, is an artist whose thought-provoking work delves into the complexities of societal issues through a unique perspective. With a focus on examining racism from a privileged standpoint and critiquing toxic Christianity and consumerism, Day uses both digital and traditional media to create captivating paintings that blend realism with expressive elements, inviting viewers to confront uncomfortable truths within our contemporary world. Born in the vibrant city of Indianapolis, he currently lives and works in North West Arkansas. Day attended Herson School of Art and Design and was a former Resident at the Harrison Center for the Arts in Indianapolis. A emerging artist, Day has exhibited his work in Utah, New Jersey, Arkansas, Indiana, and Ohio. - - About PAR-Projects: Professional Artistic Research (PAR-) Projects’ mission is to empower diverse communities of people who believe in the arts. As educators, we provide workshops & classes related to career development & skills training. As artists, we enjoy hosting thought provoking exhibits & collaborations throughout the Greater Cincinnati Metro Area, but will travel to help advance the creative process of like-minded organizations. PAR-Projects is currently in the midst of a major community development project in Northside, Cincinnati, that is transforming 3/4 of an acre of blighted land into a contemporary arts & education center. Within their campus they currently host a fine art gallery and a number of creativity-focused artist studios. In the coming months they will open their outdoor performance stage and outdoor movie theater. In the coming year or two, they will be opening a second gallery space and creating an outdoor venue, truly designed to give their communities a place to gather. Photo by Brooke Taylor
